DIY Slimeware
2017-Present, bio-degradable polymer, glycerol, vinegar, waterDIY Slimeware is an ongoing series of tutorials and community workshops that prototype the future of plastic. In the workshops we discuss possible ways to break out of material boundaries and objecthood to move towards a possible future of temporal or grotesque hardware starting with bio-degradable polymer, glycerol, vinegar, and water.
Plant Ensemble
2018, arduino micro-controllers, speakers, plantsInspired by John Cage’s cactus instruments and MIDI Sprout, Plant Ensemble borrows the electrical conductivity in plants to generate unexpected, randomized sound.
Kudzu
2018, processed kudzu leavesJapanese culture has a long-standing tradition of utilizing kudzu in their everyday life, and yet in the United States, kudzu is seen as an invasive plant that “ate the South”. I have developed a tutorial demonstrating how kudzu can be utilized as a tool for art and design prototyping.
